Tammie Terrill Nichols is truly an overcomer and an inspiration to many. Tammie is a 1994 graduate of B.L. Moor High School, Itawamba Community College (1996) and a 1998 Graduate of Mississippi University for Women. She is proud mother Trinity (19) and the late Terrance (22) and Tyler (21) who both succumbed to Spinal Muscular Atrophy the #1 genetic killer for children under the age of 2. She is empowering lives around the world through her dynamic personality as a Certified Life Coach, Empowerment Speaker, Innovative Television Host, Published Author, Certified Teacher and an Ordained Minister under the leadership of Supt. Joseph Hawkins of Peter’s Rock Family Worship Center in Starkville, MS.
After the death of her sons to Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Tammie created Tammie T. Tubbs LLC also known as The Tammie Tubbs Show to inspire others to keep the faith while raising awareness for SMA. She went on to write and publish her first of 7 books in memory of her sons entitled, I Still Have Joy (Published 2008). She continued galvanizing the community receiving a Proclamation from the State of Mississippi signed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives Phillip Gunn and Representative Tyrone Ellis in August 2014 recognizing August as National Spinal Muscular Atrophy Awareness Month in Mississippi. Locally, Tammie continued her efforts having a proclamation signed by the then Mayor, Parker Wiseman declaring August as SMA Awareness Month in the city of Starkville.
In 2011, Tammie relocated home to Mississippi to start her very own talk show. 11 years later she is the 1st Afro American Female to serve as the executive producer and television host of her very own television show that currently airs locally, nationally and internationally as well as in the Golden Triangle and the state of Mississippi. You can view The Tammie Tubbs Show every Sunday morning at 5:30 am on WCBI CW Network, Christian Television Network (WEPH TV49) on Dish Network Channel 49, Comcast Channel 4, Cable one channel 11, and Maxx South Broadband Channel 20 every Thursday morning 11:00am and On Pointe Network on Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, AT&T TV Mondays at 7pm.
Tammie Nichols was instrumental in launching the first Parent Cafe Model in the state of Mississippi through Starkville Oktibbeha School District serving as the first Program Manager for Families Strengthening Families. Because of Tammie’s groundwork, Mississippi became the 13th state in the nation to use Parent Cafe Model to assist families with developing and improving parental skills.
Her tireless efforts and heart has been seen and awarded by the masses, in 2015 MSU President’s Commission on the Status of Women “Outstanding Community Woman of the Year”, in 2016 Heart of the South Girls Scout “Woman of Distinction” Award, in 2018 Most Influential African American in Mississippi, 2019 Outstanding New Teacher Starkville Oktibbeha School District and most recent February 2021 being selected as Honorable Ambassador by the Business Empowered Mississippi Chamber of Commerce. Currently she serves as a Project Manager for Research Curriculum Unit at Mississippi State University.
Well known in the community, Tammie has no limits nor boundaries when inspiring the community to transform others from Good, Better to Best. She is an active member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated (26 years). Tammie is fulfilling her purpose as God has favored her to travel the U.S., Italy, Switzerland, Jamaica, Bermuda, Hawaii, and Alaska just to name a few sharing her life journey of Life after Death.
In 2021 she published her 1st children’s book, “You are Not What
They Say You Are” educating youth on bullying while building self esteem for grades K-6 grade.In addition to being an educator, she is also the owner of Majestic Designs Snap Jewelry, an online jewelry boutique.
Recently married and newlywed, she is married to her best friend Phi Beta Sigma Finest former Chief of Police, Mr. Reynolds Frank Nichols. They reside in Starkville, MS and have 3 children Reynolds (24), Trinity (19) and Jaxsen (15).
